Connecting The Dots : Chinese Medicine

That everything is interconnected in one's body and in the universe is the philosophy of Traditional Chinese medicine. Development of the way in which the system could be divided is the understanding that allows one to practice alternatives towards health and balanced energy.

The concept that the functions of the different organs interact with each other is known as the Zang-Fu theory. This interaction allows them to function in different ways, and balances out the health of different individuals. When one's internal organs are completely balanced, they have reached complete health because their energy is able to flow naturally and without any blocks.

Head unleashes Horne to prime Hull's second-half stampede

It has been a difficult summer for the people of Hull for more than one reason, but supporters of the Black and White half of the city can sense an upturn in fortunes. Hull FC's recent resurgence has raised memories of last year's stunning run to the grand final, and this comprehensive victory over play-off rivals Warrington was the clearest indication yet that they could be serious contenders again.

After a tight first half that was riddled with mistakes, Peter Sharp's side took control after the interval, scoring five unanswered tries to move above the Wolves and into fourth place. Their Australian scrum-half Matthew Head has had an undoubted impact on their reversal in form, not least because his presence is allowing Richard Horne to flourish again. Motu Tony was also outstanding at full-back, but equally as impressive was the contribution of their sizeable quota of homegrown youngsters, particularly Craig Hall, Danny Washbrook and Scott Wheeldon.

Security Measures Could Increase Cost Of Drinking Water

The cost for drinking water could increase if some U.S. senators get their way.U.S. Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., introduced a bill in May 2006 that would provide grants for water treatment facilities to switch from using chlorine gas as a disinfectant to a safer alternative.Drinking water has to be treated before being dispersed to the public. Treatment facilities have since the early 1900s used chlorine gas as a disinfecting agent. The chlorine in the water helps people drinking that water fight off certain diseases and has saved millions of lives since being introduced, said Larry Lloyd, chief operating officer of Beaver Water District.Biden was joined by U.S. Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., and former U.S. Sen. James Jeffords in introducing legislation that would "significantly reduce the threat of an attack on our nation's drinking and wastewater treatment facilities," according to a news release from Biden's office dated May 19, 2006.

Indian patience only adds insult to England’s injuries

The England team have been playing unbroken cricket since May 2006. Your wicket becomes less valuable, matches less important, international cricket less of a peak experience.

But this feeling needs to be snuffed out, and right away. This is a team that has got that little bit too fond of itself and India have been smart enough, good enough and team-minded enough to exploit that weakness with a ruthlessness that England have found so hateful.

They buzz; they sting; they bug you

This time of year, we usually encounter flying insects such as bees, wasps and hornets around the yard. Normally by this time, I've managed to make some flying insect mad enough to sting me, but so far I've escaped it. However, there are still lots of these critters in the area. I used to get lots of calls about honeybees, but not much anymore.Bumblebees: We have a lot of bumblebees that are attracted by flowers in our garden, but we don't see many honeybees. Bumblebees are ½ to 1 inch long, yellow and black, hairy, stout-looking insects that build nests underground. They often use old rodent burrows for their nests. Normally they won't attack you unless provoked.n Carpenter bees: They look like a bumblebee because they are yellow and black, but they are more round and much smaller than a bumblebee.

Chinese SMEs offer opportunities for global PE funds

Global private equity funds have a wealth of opportunities in China, where more than 40 million small and medium-sized enterprises are in dire need of capital in a booming national economy.

"We've been doing PE investment in China for 25 years. We're successful and the return is quite satisfactory," said Robert A. Theleen, chairman of US-sponsored Chinavest merchant bank.

The big market and fast-growing enterprises with considerable potential are attractive to global investors, said Theleen, who is attending the ongoing China International Private Equity Forum in this port city of northern China.

With offices in San Francisco, Shanghai, Beijing and Hong Kong, Chinavest operates as a financial intermediary and a principal investor to assist foreign and Chinese companies, private equity funds and other investors evaluate and execute cross-border transactions.
