Connecting To Your Breath : Chinese Medicine

Sticking needles in your system or taking an extra set of herbs every day is not what the holistic approach to medicine is all about. By working towards healing, gaining energy or just feeling better about your every day life and finding an answer to your existence will lead to a well rounded well being. Approaching Chinese medication is a great way to begin living your life differently.

Connection to the mind and spirit is just as important a concept within Chinese medicine as the diagnosis and assessments of your physical body. Meditation will often be used as a basis for many of the practices and this is especially seen in branches such as Qigong and Yoga, where meditation combines with physical movement in order to open the energy centers of the body.

A First Visit To An Acupuncture Clinic

When first contemplating making an appointment at an acupuncture clinic many people consider this for various reasons usually related to their health. Persistent pain, stress-related symptoms, or other problems such as weight loss are the common areas associated with this field of Chinese medicine. In China, however, people often use their acupuncture visits as a periodic tune up in order to stay healthy. Chinese acupuncturists often get paid as long as their client is healthy, rather than when their clients have symptoms.

There are two major parts to the diagnosis as the acupuncture practitioner begins his analysis. Physical observation and a discussion of your symptoms and environment form the basis of the examination and all observations will be written down and used together with the discussion with the practitioner.

Chinese Medicine Hierarchy of Medicine

Traditional Chinese medicine is a variety of medical practices originating in China that developed over several thousand years. These practices include theories, diagnosis and treatments and are not based on the typical ideas and facts that you would see in every day doctor's offices.

The philosophy of Chinese medicine is based on the mental and physical bodies being in tune with the spiritual being. Energy, known as Qi, is allowed to move through the body unrestricted when all three of these are aligned. If you are looking for your own method to using Chinese medicine, you can take several approaches.

Chinese medicine consists of eight different methods that are used for healing and, depending on a person's Qi, each of these methods can be used simultaneously with others.

Chinese Medicine - How Do They Know What I Need?

Traditional Chinese medicine doesn't use the technology of Western conventional medicine that checks the heart rate and sets you up to a monitor. Because of this it is hard to see how a practitioner can discover what you need without the instrumentation and tools made available by modern science. Chinese medicine as an alternative relies mainly on observation and description on the nature of infections for creating remedies. Determining where your Qi is off indicates what type of help you need.

Physical affects that are causing differences in how you function is the basic principle that will be used when determining a diagnosis for your health and Chinese medicine practitioners use the exterior as a guidance to what is happening in the interior. Most will use what they see as a way to speak with what your body needs.

Tying Together The Cycle

Chinese philosophy maintains that in order for one to be balanced and healthy, all of the elements in the body have to be balanced. One must first understand how the elements work together to achieve and maintain complete health in order to do this. Chinese medicine can assist in defining what areas you should be looking at if you are looking towards nature to find a cure for your ailments.

Chinese medicine uses the interchangeable relationship between nature and the body in order to help one gain optimal health. The five elements are linked together and applied as to how one is able to live and there is the ability for one to understand how to remain balanced and healthy.

Vietnam to cut petrol prices by 4 pct to curb inflation

The most popular 92-octane petrol grade would be priced at about 11,300 dong (70 U.S. cents) per litre, down from 11,800 dong now.

Despite having allowed distributors to set their own selling prices earlier this year, Hanoi still maintains tight control over fuel prices as it requires sellers to seek government approval before making any changes.

Prime Minister Dung also ordered government offices to lay out effective measures to achieve an economic growth of 8.5 percent for the whole of 2007 and keep inflation below the economic growth rate, the report said.

Last week Hanoi slashed import tariffs on a host of products including cars, steel and several food items such as beef and diary products as it moved to battle rising consumer prices.

Vietnam ranks as Southeast Asia's third largest crude producer after Indonesia and Malaysia but is forced to import most of its oil product needs as it lacks major refineries.
