A First Visit To An Acupuncture Clinic

When first contemplating making an appointment at an acupuncture clinic many people consider this for various reasons usually related to their health. Persistent pain, stress-related symptoms, or other problems such as weight loss are the common areas associated with this field of Chinese medicine. In China, however, people often use their acupuncture visits as a periodic tune up in order to stay healthy. Chinese acupuncturists often get paid as long as their client is healthy, rather than when their clients have symptoms.

There are two major parts to the diagnosis as the acupuncture practitioner begins his analysis. Physical observation and a discussion of your symptoms and environment form the basis of the examination and all observations will be written down and used together with the discussion with the practitioner.

"Pool & Spa magazine has reported that people are dumping more money into their backyards since 9/11," said Lux's Andy Vaccaro. "But nobody was making a TV you could leave outside 24/7. So after two years of R&D, we started offering one." Pricing ranges from $5,500 to $7,300.

Richardson's parents, Gail and Frank Tondo, installed a slightly less ambitious pedestal-style model on their Allendale, N.J., patio. Essentially, it is an all-weather, permanent outdoor TV with cable feed.

Father tries to shield his son from flying bullets

It was just after midnight when bullets started flying on Radio Street. At that time, 15-year-old Wilkins Rosario, was outside talking to his parents.

"Next thing you know, a dark green car pulled up at shot at him," said Mizal Rosario, Wilkins Rosarios brother.

Witnesses say the car sped down the street and someone inside started shooting. Police say the shooter was aiming for Rosario. Rosario's father jumped on top of him trying to shield him from the bullets. When it was over his father was okay, but Rosario was hit several times, once in the head.

Friends say Rosario is like most teenagers. He likes to play baseball and football. "He's a nice kid, everybody likes him. I don't know how somebody could do that to him," said his friend, Jendayi.

Rosario's younger sister is also in the hospital.

Disappearance of RAW official raises questions

13 (PTI): The disappearance of Dewanchand Malik, an official of the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) described by his wife as a Bangladeshi national, has thrown the external intelligence gathering agency in a quandary over appointments made by it in 2000-01. Malik was appointed during this period in RAW's Aviation Research Centre (ARC) in Kolkata as a Class-I officer. He went missing after his wife filed an affidavit in a court in Kolkata in 2005 that alleged he is a Bangladeshi national, sources in the intelligence agency said. He has not returned for duty and raids conducted to trace him have yielded no results, they said. Malik's appointment has raised questions over recruitments made by RAW during 2000-01 as authorities suspect they were done in an arbitrary manner, sources said. The Director of ARC filed a complaint with Delhi Police about the matter and a case was registered.

Foster families brighten lives of a few lucky kids

USM L-A College team sees how love and attention, along with some outside help, is making a world of difference. The foster parents were waiting patiently when the group of college students and faculty from Maine arrived at the orphanage. They stood with their clean, well-dressed children, most in wheelchairs. The parents had come to this orphanage in Lu'an, China, for advice, eager to learn from a group of occupational therapists from Lewiston-Auburn College how to improve the lives of the disabled children in their care. This is a major success story in China, moving disabled children from orphanages into homes so they can be part of a family. This foster program is sponsored by an international group, Love Without Boundaries, which is providing foster care for 300 children in 12 Chinese cities.
