Undercover officers bust alleged house of prostitution
ALBUQUERQUE (July 19, 2007) - An undocumented Chinese immigrant is accused of running a house of prostitution near Nob Hill. Xu Shu Qin, 54, was arrested after undercover officers checked out the Oriental Health Center on a tip. At the center, near Central and Girard, a woman told one undercover officer that she would take care of him - referring to a body part - after being asked if she would do more than a massage. Another officer was told the same thing. Jin Lin Silva, who owns the Gambbi Salon down the street, said she was relieved. "As an acupuncturist and because we are Taiwanese, it could really affect our business in a negative way," she said. "So we try to make it as legit as possible, to look as professional as possible because acupuncture is a real alternative to medicine.
